SANTA FE – Mrs. Margaret Helen Bowling passed away at the age of 76 on Thursday, January 8, 2026, in Webster.
Margaret was born in Alvin on September 2, 1949, to John and Roxie (Blanchard) Botter. While in high school, Margaret met Richard Bowling, Sr., and the two were married in 1967. When talking with Margaret, you couldn’t help but feel important. She always made sure to be present and give you her full attention no matter what the subject of your conversation. This attentiveness allowed her to gain true friends whom she loved to spend time with. Margaret loved being close to her children and grandchildren as much as possible. She was always making the effort to see them no matter how far she had to travel. She loved traveling and her companionship with her fur babies. Margaret’s sweet nature, her ease of conversation and giving spirit will be greatly missed until we can see her again.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Roxie (Blanchard) Botter; husband, Richard D. Bowling, Sr.; brother, James Michael Botter; grandchildren, Jacob and Josiah Bowling.
Survivors include her sons, Richard D. Bowling, Jr., and wife, Lisa of Fresno, Texas, Neil D. Bowling and wife, Sara of Hidden Valley Lake, California; daughter, Tamera D. Hinson and husband, Grady of Texas City; sisters, Diana Sue Kover and husband, Stan of San Augustine; sister-in-law, Bunnye; grandchildren, Aria, Mariah and husband, Greg, Joshua, Matthew and wife, Krystal, Judah and wife, Liya, Micha, Jordan, Amber, Reece, Ezra, Eliyanah, Kevin, Andrew, Noah, Luke, Emme, Sebastian; great-grandchildren, Avery, Nayna, Brady, Levi; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at First Baptist Church Alta Loma, 5400 FM 646 South, Santa Fe, Texas with Pastor Jake Bigford officiating.
Memorials in the form of donations may be made in Margaret’s name to Alzheimer’s Association, 6055 South Loop East, Houston, Texas 77087.
