Michael Alan Smith Sr Obituary
Michael Allen Smith, Sr., age 40, of Burt, Michigan, passed away at 3:08 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at UofL Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Michael was born on September 24, 1985, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Joseph and Diana Ervin.
He was formerly employed with Detroit Local 149 and Charlie’s Platinum Wireless. Michael was a devoted fan of University of Michigan athletics, especially football. He enjoyed grilling, spending time outdoors, and most of all, being with his family.
Michael is survived by his children, Nevaeh Madlin-Smith, Braelynn Smith, and Michael Smith, Jr. He is also survived by his siblings, John Smith and Joseph Erdmann (Kari); his nephews, Adison Erdmann and Kouri Smith, and his mother, Diana Ervin.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Ervin. Cremation has been chosen.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Michigan.
