John Loyd Landry, Jr. Obituary

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. John Loyd Landry, Jr. will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2026, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Alexandria, with Monsignor James Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.

Mr. Landry, 65, of Deville, entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 8, 2026.

John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, whose life touched many.  He was known for his sense of humor, kind heart, and for always smiling and showing up for others when needed.  Family meant everything to him, especially his wife, daughters, and grandchildren whom he loved deeply and was proud of everyday. He valued faith, loyalty, hard work, love and carried those traits into every part of his life. Those who knew him will remember his laugh, his stories, his presence, and his big heart. Though his life ended too soon, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain forever.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Loyd Landry, Sr. and Ruby Mae Landry; and one brother, Roger “Jack” Brokaw.

Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife, Karen Lohman Landry of Deville; two daughters, Sarah Landry (Brandon) of Center Point, and Jennie Carver (David) of Plaucheville; three brothers, Joe Landry, Sr. of Alexandria, Charlie Landry of Alexandria, and Chris Landry (Mike) of Ohio; three sisters, Barbara Durison (Rick) of Boyce, Beverly Belgard (Richard) of Kolin, and Brenda Landry of Jennings; three granddaughters, Alexa Barron, Ava Carver, and Olivia Carver; and two grandsons, Everett Carver and Emmett Carver.

A time of visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville. Visitation will resume at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 12:00 noon until time of departure to the church.
