Christopher Carbery was born March 10, 1952, and passed away on January 8, 2026.

He and his wife Valerie were married for 39 years, and resided in Massapequa, NY.

Chris had the rare gift of perfect pitch and total recall. Not only did Chris play guitar, he was an accomplished bassist and pianist as well. He was also a musical encyclopedia of songs from all genres and eras.

Chris started playing professionally when he was 16. He attended CW Post College, where he studied composition and arranging. His career in music included numerous studio and demo sessions, where he played on countless jingles for companies such as Pepsi-Cola, 7-Up, Hertz Car Rental, and many others. He also played on several National Geographic documentaries. Chris toured with many different bands, most memorable being The Buzzy Linhart Band, and a short stint with James Taylor. Chris spent many years as the guitarist for The Naked Truth Band, and subsequently as the guitarist for The Uppercut Band. (this tribute was written by Billy Heller)
