Craten Gladdious Quann, 65, of The Villas, Cape May County, New Jersey was born May 26, 1960, in Camden, New Jersey to Carrie Virginia Lawrence and Charles Edward Burress. Craten passed away in the Cooper/Cape Regional Medical Center, Cape May Court House, New Jersey on January 3, 2026.

He was a product of the Camden School System and graduated from Camden High School with the Class of 1979. After completing, high school Craten attended Trenton State College.

He was known to enjoy a good laugh with his friends and family. He also appreciated attending family events and eating good food. Everyone who knew him knew that he was a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Those Craten leaves to cherish his memories are: his wife, Barbara Austin-Quann; children, Anniesha Quann-Walker, Taneisha Quann, Sherry McCray, Craten Quann II, Quahhir Quann, Laquan Anderson, Veda Quann-Cloud, Shafiqa Harper, Brejanna Molock, Anthony Turner, Sr., Fatima Austin, Letitia Rodriguez, Zakia Matthews, Kahliah Dempsey, many grandchildren; sister, Vandetta Lawrence; uncles, William Lawrence and Albert Lawrence; and a host of family and friends.

He is predeceased by: his parents, Carrie Virginia Lawrence-McCullough and Charles Edward Burress; and his sons, Stephen Young and De'Andre Molock; sister, Charlotte Lawrence.

A memorial service to celebrate Craten's life will begin at 12PM, Noon, Friday, January 16, 2026, in the New Pilgrim Baptist Church, 1030 South 5th Street, Camden New Jersey.
