Jennifer Eileen Shoemake, 40, of Batavia, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Bethesda North Hospital. She was born in Cincinnati on July 1, 1985, to Rob and Jill Bess.

She is survived by her husband, Jason Shoemake; two daughters: Kenzie and Kayla Shoemake; mother, Jill Bess; two aunts: Dianna Bess, and Teresa Jones; and three fur babies: Chevy, Diesel, and Turbo.

Jennifer was a woman of many talents and a generous heart, always eager to give her time and energy to others. She proudly served as a Girl Scout leader and volunteered at Batavia Schools, making a lasting impact on the children and families she supported. As a bus driver, she was a familiar and friendly face to many, known for her dependability and care. Jennifer enjoyed spending time at the shooting range, trying new restaurants, and taking trips to Kings Island for fun and adventure. She had a love for cars—especially her black Chevy truck—and even worked on a pit crew during her college years. Her passion for mentoring continued as a volunteer cheerleading coach for Upward Bound. Above all, Jennifer loved music and concerts of all kinds, embracing every moment with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a spirited love for life.

A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on January 14, 2026, at E.C. Nurre Funeral Homes, 177 W. Main Street, Amelia, OH 45102, where a memorial service will begin at 6:00 p.m.
