Rosa A. Tressler, 61, of Julian, passed away following a short illness at Mount Nittany Medical Center on Thursday, January 8, 2026. Born on August 20, 1964, in State College, Rosa was the daughter of the late Raymond McKinley and Katherine (Litz) McKinley Miller. On August 19, 1988, in Julian, she married Melvin L. Tressler, Jr., who survives at home.

Rosa was a 1982 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School and a 1982 graduate of Central Pennsylvania Institute of Technology, where she studied culinary arts. She later earned her cosmetology license from Empire Beauty School in State College. While she worked as a beautician for several years, Rosa found her greatest joy and purpose in life as a devoted stay-at-home wife and mother.

Rosa enjoyed creating resin craft items, playing lottery tickets, and relaxing with a good cup of coffee while listening to audiobooks on her iPad. She cherished time spent with her dogs, Minnie, Sadie, and Sassy. An excellent cook, she preferred cooking over baking. Above all else, Rosa’s favorite pastime was being with her family. She treasured every moment spent with them.

Rosa is survived by her loving husband, Melvin; two daughters, Amber L. Tressler and her fiancé, Jakob Williams, of Port Matilda, and Brandy L. Tressler of Julian; and one granddaughter, Zoey Williams of Port Matilda. She is also survived by her siblings: Ricky McKinley and his wife, Jeanne, of Bush Hollow; Ray McKinley and his wife, Leisa, of Bellefonte; Kathy Hoover and her husband, Lane, of Hampstead, NC; and Carol Ghaner and her husband, Lynn, of Milesburg; as well as her sister-in-law, Beth McKinley of Bush Hollow, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Rosa was preceded in death by her beloved son, Melvin L. Tressler III, and her brothers, William McKinley and Robert McKinley.

A celebration of Rosa’s life will be held at a later date.
