Carol Ann Vandenberg and Cornelis “Casey” Dirk Vandenberg Sr., longtime partners in life and love, are remembered together by their family and all who knew them.

Carol Ann Vandenberg, age 78, of Youngstown, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025. She was born on September 10, 1947, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, to the late Robert Reid and Lilian Murton.

Cornelis “Casey” Dirk Vandenberg Sr. passed away peacefully in Florida on April 15, 2021. He was born on March 2, 1934, in Driebergen-Rijsenburg, the Netherlands.

Carol was a high school graduate who devoted her life to caring for her family. She was known for her quiet strength, kindness, and deep love for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, shelling on the beach, and shopping.

Casey was also a high school graduate and proudly served in the Dutch Army. After immigrating to the United States, he built a life centered on hard work and family devotion. He was deeply proud of his Dutch heritage and military service and enjoyed golfing, reading, ham radio, and target shooting.

Together, Carol and Casey shared a devoted partnership and built a life grounded in love and family. They lived in Middlefield, Ohio, for 25 years before retiring to Florida.

They are survived by their children, Gerrie Bulley (Ben), Cornelis “Casey” Vandenberg (Antoinette), and Jeffrey Vandenberg. Carol and Casey were proud grandparents to Jason Vandenberg, Taylor Vandenberg, and Jennifer Martin (Steven), and cherished great-grandparents to Aiden and Alex Vandenberg.

Carol is survived by her brothers Ken Reid (Cheryl) and Todd Murton (Billie), and Sister Kim Engleman (Mark).
And Cornelis is survived by a brother Jack Vandenberg (Birgit)

Cremation has taken place. Private family services were held, with burial at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life honoring both Carol and Casey will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Chardon VFW, 752 Water Street, Chardon, Ohio. All are welcome.
