Teresa Blackwell Fountain, age 69, of Whiteville, NC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Valley Hospice House in Fayetteville, NC.  Teresa was born on August 3, 1956 to the late Andrew “Ander” James Blackwell and Eva Mae Jones Blackwell.  She was preceded in death by a brother; James “Bankey” Alan Blackwell Jr and a son; Jeremy Ellis Fountain.

Teresa was born and raised in Whiteville and was a graduate of Whiteville High School. She attended Southeastern Community College.  She worked at Land-o-Lakes Golf Club and then at Fairmont Golf course.  Teresa then worked for about 9 years as Manager of the Fair Bluff Public Library at Fair Bluff, NC.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son in law; Katie Leigh Fountain (Taylor) of Saint Pauls, grandson; Aaron Douglas Fountain also of Saint Pauls, a sister Deborah B. Zandy and sister in law; Deborah Page Blackwell both of Whiteville, one niece, several nephews and several great nieces and great nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 2:00 pm in Whiteville Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Darryll Hester officiating.  The family will greet friends after the service.
