Richard Raymond Fetzer
July 23, 1951 – January 8, 2026
Richard Raymond Fetzer, of New Rochelle, New York, passed away peacefully on the morning of January 8, 2026, at Rosary Hill Home after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was 74 years old.
Born on July 23, 1951, in New Rochelle, Rich was the beloved son of Eleanor and Raymond Fetzer, who predeceased him. He grew up in the community he loved, attending New Rochelle High School before continuing his education at the University of Connecticut.
Rich was a dedicated and accomplished athlete, earning four years of varsity letters in Track and Field in both high school and college. While at UConn, he was a member of the record-setting 4x440-yard relay team. His love of sports continued well into adulthood, as he remained active in football and softball leagues for many years.
He married Annie Volpe Fetzer, and together they raised three children: Adam (Ashley), Tara (Michael Kallmeyer), and Matthew (Maria), while making their home in Mahopac for over 30 years. Rich was a devoted “Pop” to his nine cherished grandchildren: Jameson, Cameron, Kennedy, Beckett, Boden, Peyton, Theo, Caleb, and Delaney.
Rich had a deep love for history, which came alive through his participation in both Civil War and Revolutionary War reenactments. He also enjoyed playing board games and proudly attended the World Board Game Championship annually.
Rich was a quiet man, a man of routine and consistency. He loved his family deeply and found his greatest happiness in being surrounded by them.
The wake will be held on Monday, January 12th, from 4–8 PM at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home (418 Bedford Rd, Pleasantville, NY 10570).
