Richard Lord passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, leaving behind a loving family. Richard was a devoted husband to his wife of 48 years, Stephanie, a proud father to his two sons, David and Michael and daughter-in-law Megan, and a much-loved grandfather to Liam and Alex. His family was the center of his life, and he took great pride in each generation.

He was born on June 29, 1954, in Coventry, England, the son of Peggy and Geoff Lord, and brother to Philip, all deceased.

Richard lived his life marked by curiosity, dedication and quiet achievement, all with a quick sense of humour. He will also be remembered for his kindness, steady presence and love of animals.

He had a lifelong passion for computing, which he successfully turned into a rewarding career in QA software automation. His work took him across Europe and eventually to Alberta, Canada, where his career led him to settle and later retire in Cochrane. He was respected for his knowledge, precision, and thoughtful approach, and valued the experiences and friendships his work brought him.

His legacy lives on through his family and all those whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered

Memorial Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Cochrane, 369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB), on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. All who knew him are welcome to attend. Following the service, family and friends are welcome to attend a small reception at the family home.
