She was raised on her family’s farm west of Willmar, where she developed a strong work ethic while helping care for animals. Donna attended country school and graduated from Raymond High School in 1969. She continued her education at Willmar Community College, earning her associate degree in 1971. Donna served honorably in the Army Reserve with the 825th Supply Company in Willmar from 1979 to 1983, achieving the rank of Sergeant.

In 1972, Donna began her career as a Human Service Technician at the State Hospital in Willmar, where she worked until 1983. On April 16, 1983, she was united in marriage to David Luck at the Church in the Vale in Iowa. The couple lived in Minneapolis for several years before settling in Cottage Grove, Minnesota.

Donna continued her professional career at the Veterans Affairs Office, where she advanced to the role of Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Medicine. She dedicated many years of service before retiring in 2011.

Donna and David had a deep love for travel, fishing and adventure. Nearly every year, she celebrated her birthday with a trip to the North Shore of Lake Superior, where she especially enjoyed hiking. She treasured time spent in the sun, wintering in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and often visiting Manasota Key, Florida. Always adventurous, some of her favorite experiences included hang gliding, zip lining, and skydiving.

Above all, Donna was a loving mother, sister, and friend. She will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, kind heart, and the love she shared with those around her.
