Ronald "Ronnie" Snook Obituary

Ronald Elias Snook
January 20, 1960 - January 3, 2026

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Ronald Elias Snook, known to most simply as Dad/Grandpa; Also known as G-pa, Ronnie, and Red. He passed away on January 3, 2026, surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 65.

Ronald was predeceased by his mother Mary (Oakes) Snook, his father Henry Snook, and his sister Isabel Snook.

He is survived by his siblings Chesley (Kelly), Henry (Geri Lou), Tommy, Jimmy, Johnny, Mary, Marlene, and Joanne.

Ronnie was a father, grandfather, and brother whose life was shaped by family, circumstance, and connection. He was known for his presence, his familiarity, and the way he left an impression on those around him, whether through conversation, humour, or simply showing up in his own way.

Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Ronald later made his home in the Kitchener-Waterloo area, where he lived for many years and became part of the community.

He is survived by his children: Candace (Mark) Snook, RJ (Shylee) Snook, Nikketa Albrecht, Chelsea Snook-Schneider, Dakota Snook, Montana Schneider, Renee (Jeff) Poirier, Brittany Poirier, Nicole (Cory) Poirier and Victoria-Lee Poirier.

He was a grandfather to 20 grandchildren, each of whom knew him as Grandpa, a name that followed him wherever he went and one that will continue to be spoken with love.

In accordance with his wishes, Ronnie will be cremated followed by a celebration of life that will be held on his birthday, January 20, 2026 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at the Moose Lodge in Kitchener. Cremation arrangements entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral Home (519) 749-8467

Those who loved him find comfort in imagining Grandpa now, reunited once again with his loved ones in heaven, finally taking Loki for that long-awaited run.

As grandpa always said,
"This is not goodbye... It's just see you later."
