Dorothy Bolanowski of Dever, CO passed away peacefully with her family on January 3rd, 2026.

Dorothy was born to Bessie and Peter Zemeikis in Elizabeth, NJ.

She graduated from Newark State College with a BA in Education, and from Rutgers Graduate School of Management with an MBA in Accounting. She earned a CPA license in the state of New Jersey.

Dorothy taught in the Elizabeth Public School System and Elizabethport Catholic School. She was a member of the Adjunct Faculty, Business Department of Union County College. She was also employed by United States Lines, Inc.

Mrs. Bolanowski moved to Cranford, NJ, in 1967, to Boca Raton, FL, in 2010, and then to Denver, CO, in 2019 to live with her son Richard.

Mrs. Bolanowski was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist RC Church in Boca Raton, FL, and a life-long member of Sts. Peter and Paul's Lithuanian RC Church, Elizabeth, NJ.

Dorothy was beloved by a wide circle of friends across the country—people she stayed connected to, encouraged, and loved well. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, including her “granddog,” Blue, who brought her comfort and joy and loved her dearly.

She was predeceased by her husband Casimir F.K. Bolanowski, son Casimir F.T. Bolanowski, and brothers Rev Alfred Zemeikis and Peter Zemeikis, Jr.

Dorothy is survived by: son Richard Bolanowski, four grandsons, Noah, Jacob, Aspen, and Raymond Bolanowski, and daughter-in-law Staci Brand.

Dorothy will have an interment in Saint Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia, NJ at a date to be determined.
