Frank Joseph Modesto, age 89, of Rolesville, NC, passed away in his home on January 3, 2026.
Frank was born to Francis X. and Evelyn Arnett Modesto in Darby, PA. He graduated from Collingdale High School and immediately began his 42-year career at the Philadelphia Suburban Water Company. His water company career was interrupted in 1958 by his service as a proud member of the United States Army. In 1961, Frank married Jean May Lucas in San Antonio, TX before they returned home to Collingdale, PA, where they lived until Frank retired from the PSWco in 1998 and moved to Rolesville, NC into the house they built, becoming Rolesville's 851st and 852nd residents.
Frank was a passionate man, whose feelings were known to all. His water main plans were precise, as was his approach to life. His support of his children, grandchildren and their activities was unwavering. Frank knew no strangers and all he met heard how proud he was of his family. He often said "I'm not a giver-upper," and he proved that to the very end.
He will be missed by his wife of 64 years, Jean May Modesto (Lucas), his daughter Karen, her husband Lon, and their four children Hannah, Michael & his fiancé Rachel, Zach, and Josh, and his son Kevin and his wife Becky (Birdwell), and their four children and their partners Elizabeth Modesto Waterman and Kaleb, Micah Modesto, Zoe Modesto Vanlandingham and Parker, and Luke Joseph Modesto and Claire.
