John L. Borree, age 88, passed away on January 3, 2026, following a courageous 3½‑year battle with leukemia. He was born on November 22, 1937, to the late Herman and Alexia (Stommel) Borree. On December 28, 1963, John married Janet Schroeder at Martin Luther Church in Neenah.

John spent his entire career at Kimberly‑Clark’s Neenah Paper Division, taking on many roles and building lasting friendships along the way. One of his proudest achievements was how he played a vital, hands‑on role in helping bring the wastewater treatment facility to life and took great pride in managing its operations for many years.

He loved traveling, camping, hunting, and spending time at his cabin in the northwoods. For 25 years, John and Janet were snowbirds spending their winters in Arizona, a tradition they cherished.

John also held a deep Christian faith and placed great importance on Christian education. He willingly worked countless extra hours to ensure his children and grandchildren could benefit from that education.

John is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Janet; children: Jolene (Jim) Pautz, Jeff (Kathy) Borree, Julie (Dennis) Plaster and Jenne Borree (Keith); grandchildren: Jimmy (Alyssa) Pautz, Matt (Abby) Pautz, Joe (Katie) Pautz, Amanda (TJ) Wojciechowski, Meg Borree, Kaitlin (Sean) Esenberg, Hannah Borree, Bryan (Brenna) Plaster, Jason Plaster and Ian Plaster; great grandchildren: James, Ewan, Cora, Isaac, Levi, Nathan, Aaron, Jonah, Josiah, Ezra, Alexia and Iyla; siblings: Virginia Volkman and Randy (Therese) Borree; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

John was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Alexia Borree; mother and father-in-law, Ralph and Edith Schroeder; siblings: Bob (Helen) Borree, Ruth (Ted) Tuchscherer and Al Borree; brother-in-law, Terry Schroeder. 

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 12, 2026, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, N2740 N. French Road, Appleton. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Interment will be in Community Lutheran Cemetery.
