Tami Dee Clay (Foster), age 60, passed away on January 3, 2026, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Born on March 3, 1965, in the same city she called home throughout her life, Tami left behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and joy that touched all who knew her.
Tami pursued her passion for helping others by earning her degree from Baker College and becoming an occupational therapist. Her career was marked by years of devoted service at Spectrum/Corwell Health, where she worked at the heart center. Her commitment to patient care and tireless work ethic made a lasting impact on both colleagues and patients alike.
Beyond her professional life, Tami gave generously of her time and energy to causes close to her heart. She volunteered for many years with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Camp, offering support and kindness to children and families facing difficult challenges. Her selflessness and caring nature were evident in every aspect of her life.
Tami found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved boating on Hardy Pond, where she spent countless peaceful hours surrounded by nature. Her yard and garden were sources of pride and beauty—spaces she nurtured with the same care she gave to those around her. Each year, she transformed her home into a festive wonderland with elaborate Halloween and Christmas displays that delighted neighbors and visitors alike.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Mark Clay; her mother, Carole Funk and her father, Thomas Foster. Tami is preceded in death by her brother, Todd Foster.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her
