Raul Beltran Acosta Obituary

Raul Acosta was born May 7, 1936 in Chuchupa, Mexico to the home of Isadora (Beltran) and Cruz Acosta and died at his home in Portales on Jan. 3, 2026.  Mr Acosta came to the United States in 1986, and settled in Portales.  Throughout his working years he was employed at several different farms and on various ranches.  He loved animals, and kept pigs, goats, and chickens, as well as had various dogs and cats as pets.  Mr. Acosta was married to Guadalupe Arcoamarillo on Dec. 1, 2020.  Together, they were known for their smooth dance performances at the Senior Citizen dances.  He loved music, and nearly always had Mexican music playing.  He had won a number of medals in the Senior Olympics where he had competed in pool, horseshoes, and shuffleboard.  He also enjoyed playing cards with his friends.


He is survived by a sister, Rosalia Cordero of El Paso, TX, as well as by a number of nieces.  He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Juan, Manuel and Santiago Acosta; and four sisters, Guadalupe Acosta, Anna Maria Acosta, Maria Cruz Acosta and Josefa Acosta, as well as by his wife.
