Mr. Walter Louis Jones, Sr., age 74, passed from this life on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at his residence in Lima, Ohio.

He was born on June 24, 1951 in Marion, Arkansas  to Hardy Lee Jones and May Ella Floyd. Both parents preceded him in death.

On January 17, 2015  he was united in holy matrimony to Shirley (Tate) Jones,  she survives in Lima.

Mr. Jones retired from General Motors Corporation after over 32 years of service.  He was a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church.

Besides his loving wife Shirley Jones, he leaves to cherish his precious memory 4 sons; Walter L. Jones, Jr. (Keri) of Defiance, Ohio, Alan D. Fisher (Brooke) of Findlay, Ohio, Lymon J. Tate and Cedric N. Lee both of Lima, Ohio.  9 daughters; Marva L. Fisher, Trina L. Fisher, Falisha T. Burns, Latasha S. Tate, LaKilya D. Tate, Vermetha Shorter, Kenya L. Jones and LaGwendolyn C. Tate all of Lima, Ohio and Lakenya R. Williams (Michael) of Herando, Mississippi.  59 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren.  2 brothers; Woodrow Andrews (Patricia) and Bruce Andrews (Vanessa) both of Lima, Ohio.  2 sisters; Helen Guest (Wardell) of West Memphis, Arkansas and Deloris Collins of Lima, Ohio.  1 special nephew; Andrew Jones, Sr. & 1 special niece Shaquavious Clay . and 4 special Godsons; Andy, Maurice (Wook), Larry (Pig) and Todd.( Budda)  A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother; Hardy Jones, Jr. and 5 sisters; Mary Bulloix, Gloria Hemphill, Bobbi Armstead, Suzie Smith and Wyrena Wilson.  3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Philippian Missionary Baptist Church  with Rev. Arnold Manley, officiating.

Visitation/wake will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. until time of services at also at the Church.

Entombment:  Woodlawn Mausoleum
