Anderson ~ The Matriarch of the Family ~ Marguerite E. Anderson was born in Jacksonville, Florida on February 9, 1934, to the late Leroy Watson and Wesley Brown and the late Catherine Rhett-Brown. She passed away peacefully into eternal rest at home surrounded by her family at her bedside January 3, 2026, at 3:40p.m.
Marguerite enjoyed cooking, sewing, fishing, shopping at Walmart; but most of all, she enjoyed watching wrestling. She was a member of Zarephath Ministries under the leadership of the late James Brant, Sr.
In 1949, she met and married the late Levi Anderson, Sr. and this union was blessed with six children – Levi preceded her in death after sixty years of marriage in 2009.
She was preceded in death by her fathers, Leroy Watson and Wesley Brown; mother, Catherine Rhett-Brown; children, Sandra Jean Anderson, Terry Anderson Sr, Levi Anderson Jr; five siblings; grandchildren, Theodore A. Anderson, Leroy “TT” Owens, Maurice Anderson, Corey Milton, Sidney Owens, Alexis Anderson. Marguerite is survived by children, Brenda “Joyce” Johnson, Belinda “Stine” Ferguson, Alphonso (Lynette) Anderson, Theodore Anderson, Chaurese (Glenderrick) Crawford; sisters, Dorothy (George) Kinard, Ida Brown; grandchildren, Kinuko “Kim” Anderson, Paul “99” Anderson, Paulette (Eddie) Melton, Ormond (Maggie) Ford, Chandra “Shay” (Keith) Campbell, Gloria “Red” Smith, Eddie (Trinnett) Anderson, Rudolph Anderson, Chad (Dawn) Anderson, Victoria Anderson, Alfreda (Harry) Presha, James Davis, Terry (Yolanda) Anderson Jr, Sandra (Clyde) Jones, Aungelique (Larry) Cousan, Glenderrick Crawford Jr, Gregory Crawford, Corey Brooks, Ervina Hare, Amiracle Hare, Norman Hare; fifty-seven great grandchildren; fifty-one great-great grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, sorrowing extended family and friends, including Theresa Washington and Lester Carr.
Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Marguerite E. Anderson will be 10:00AM Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Hilliard First Assembly of God, 550920 U S 1, Hilliard, Florida. Visitation Friday from 5 – 7:00 PM at Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church, 5527 Redpoll Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida. Interment in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Kings Ferry, Florida.
