BEAVER, Douglas John
Passed away peacefully while holding his wife’s hand. Cherished husband of Nancy for 55 years. Dear father of Jim (Natalie) and Michael (Jennifer). Forever loved by his grandson Van. Predeceased by his parents Bill and Gert. Doug grew up in Fenwick where he developed a lifelong love of Basketball and Baseball. A gifted pitcher he achieved the rare feat of throwing a perfect game and multiple no hitters. These accomplishments remained a proud part of his life. Doug went on to build a long and steady career at General Motors for 37 years. He had a strong work ethic, reliability and quiet dedication. Above all else was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be remembered for his kindness, gentle spirit, infectious smile and genuine care for others. In honouring Doug’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. In memory of Doug donations to the Marotta Family Hospital or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
