Dale Monty Lusk

December 16, 1956 – January 3, 2026

Dale Monty Lusk passed away on January 3, 2026, at the Tofield Health Centre after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was 69 years old. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Sandy and their children Melanie (David) and Tim (Heather). 

Dale was born in Viking, Alberta on December 16, 1956, to James and Nellie Lusk, the youngest of seven children. Dale grew up on the family farm near Bruce and attended Bruce and Holden schools. He spent his time working on engines and motors, modifying or taking them apart – even if they didn’t need to be - and putting them back together.  

In 1973, Dale began working at Tofield Autobody for work experience and later as an apprentice. In 1978, he got hired with Northwestern Utilities Limited (later Atco Gas) as a field operator and worked there for 36 years, retiring in 2014. During retirement he was able to spend more time working on small engines, woodworking and the never-ending job of mowing lawn or moving snow at the acreage. He enjoyed movie nights with his family, putting together puzzles, and morning coffee on the veranda in the summertime with Sandy. He was always his children's first call when something needed fixing, repairing, or figuring out. Patient and dependable, he met every problem with quiet confidence and a willingness to help whenever he was needed. He was also always up for a trip to Princess Auto or Canadian Tire.

Dale is survived by his brothers, Ross (Sheila) and Wayne (Linda), and his sisters, Amy and Carol, sister-in-law Karen Dafoe-Clarke and was predeceased by his parents, James and Nellie and brothers, Ernie and Jimmy.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, January 18 from 1:30 – 4:30 pm at the Tofield Legion (4909 52 Ave., Tofield, Alberta).

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses and care providers at the Tofield Health Center and to family and friends for their support during this time.
