Mark Ray Whitbeck of Irrigon, Oregon, was born on August 28, 1952 in Hood River, Oregon to parents, Monte and Joyce (Buck) Whitbeck. He died on January 3, 2026 in Hermiston, Oregon at the age of 73 years. Mark was raised in the Hood River, Oregon area. He was united in marriage to Joyce Barzee on June 11, 1971 in Fossil, Oregon. They lived in Hood River, Oregon until moving to Irrigon, Oregon in 1974 where they have lived since. Mark worked as a mechanic at U & I (Oregon Potato) in Boardman for several years and later for Marlette Homes in Hermiston as a fabricator until he retired. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, building model cars, was a hot rod enthusiast and an avid yard-saler.


He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Joyce Whitbeck, Irrigon, OR; sons: Jason Whitbeck, Irrigon, OR, Ray Whitbeck (Chelsea), Golden Valley, AZ and Jeff Whitbeck, Irrigon, OR; daughters: Karri Harley (Rusty), Irrigon, OR; 9 siblings; grandchildren: Megan Harley, Ashleigh Harley, Malorie Whitbeck, Lexi Whitbeck, Brody Whitbeck and numerous nieces and nephews.


Mark was preceded in death by his parents.   
    
A family celebration will be held at a later date.
