George P. Grec, 63, of Greensburg, died Saturday, January 3, 2026, in Independence Health – Westmoreland Hospital. He was born July 17, 1962, in Greensburg, a son of the late Isabelle (DiMartino) Grec and Joseph E. Grec. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church, Greensburg. Prior to retirement George had been employed by Smail Auto Group where he was known as the “Infamous Lot Attendant”. He was a member of the Hecla Sportsman Club where he was a former club officer and beloved bartender for many years. He was also a member of the Norvelt Volunteer Fireman’s Club and the United Slovak Club. George had a warm and caring spirit and once you met him, he was your friend for life. In his final act of kindness, he gave the gift of life through organ donation. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Luigi and Mary DiMartino; his paternal grandparents, John and Anna Grec; and his sister, Nancy Grec. He is survived by his brother, Joseph E Grec, Jr. of Greensburg; two sisters, Mary Ann Grec and partner Greg Wilson of Greensburg, and Beth A. Grec of Greensburg; two aunts, Sylvia (DiMartino) Murray and Sharon DiMartino; and many cousins and friends. Friends will be received from 1 to 8 PM Thursday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Prayers will begin at 9:30 AM Friday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10 AM in Our Lady of Grace Church, Greensburg.
