Johanna Joan Witt, 92, of Shamokin Dam, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, surrounded by her children at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born on May 13, 1933, in Kulpmont, PA, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Violet (Selock) Dombroski.
Johanna attended St. Pius X Catholic Church, Selinsgrove.
On August 13, 1955, she married Frank Witt, who preceded her in death on January 15, 2021. The couple were married 65 years at the time of his passing.
Following high school, Johanna earned a nursing degree from the Ashland State Hospital School of Nursing. She served as a registered nurse up until the birth of her children. Later, she worked as a transporter for B.K.W.
In her free time, Johanna thoroughly enjoyed reading, crocheting, boating, bowling, and playing bingo. Most importantly, she cherished the time spent with her family.
Johanna is survived by a son, Joseph (Kathy) Witt; three daughters, Juliann (Jesse) Hummel, Barbara (Al) Witt, and Brenda (Jim) Brubaker; grandchildren Tyler (Tabbie) Hummel, Anna (Jonah) Hummel, Kevin Brubaker, and Joe Brubaker; and great-grandchildren, Trinity, Tru, and Maxton.
In addition to her parents, Johanna was preceded in death by her loving husband, Francis Witt, and a son-in-law, Dale L. Longacre.
A viewing will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 North High Street, Selinsgrove, from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm.
A graveside service will follow the viewing at the funeral home in Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam, with Father Joshua Cavender officiating.
