Waynesboro, PA – Donnie Lee "Pete" Zimmerman, 88, of Waynesboro, PA and formerly of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Quincy Village Waynesboro, PA.

He was born on December 7, 1937, in Dargan, MD to the late John Will and Fannie Mae (Ebersole) Zimmerman.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nina Lee (Hines) Zimmerman on Sept. 18, 2016.

Donnie was employed by Maryland State Highway Administration for 16 years until his retirement.

He was a Christian.

He was a life member of Conococheague Tribe #84 IORM of Williamsport, MD and was a past member of the Hagerstown Moose Lodge.

Donnie enjoyed dancing, karaoke, and carinvals.

He is survived by his second wife, Janis Marie Zimmerman whom he married on Sept. 26, 2018; daughter Brenda L. Basore and her husband Chuck; daughter Debbie K. Cheek; Janis’s 5 daughters and families; sister Betty J. Crampton; grandchildren Marty Shatzer, Donnie Basore, Jason Basore (Kristen), Rob Hosfeld (Bobbie), and Chad Basore; great grandchildren Tyler, Eliza, Addison, Brendan, Dahlia, Charlee, and Shawn. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his first wife and parents, he was predeceased by 3 sisters and 5 brothers.

Funeral services will be held at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. Interment will be in Manor Cemetery Boonsboro, MD.
