Helene M. Kirk, 85 of Danville, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 3, 2026. Helene was born on April 8, 1940, in Mahanoy City, a daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Dougherty.

Helene was a 1958 graduate of Mahanoy City High School and Northeastern Hospital School of Nursing, Philadelphia, PA where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

Helene worked as a Registered Nurse for Geisinger Medical Center and Bloomsburg Hospital. She also worked for Century 21, as a Real Estate Broker.

Helene was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Church, Danville.

Helene enjoyed the solitude and comfort of her home. She was a talented seamstress, who enjoyed making clothing.

Helene was preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard and Rose Thirloway; parents, Joseph and Helen Dougherty; husband of fifteen years, William J. Kirk in 1978 and son, David Kirk in 1999.

Helene is survived by her son, Daniel Kirk and his wife, Eileen of Danville; grandson, Matthew Kirk of Paxinos: sister, Francesca Naguski of Florida; nephew, Kenneth Hall of Illinois; niece, Lorraine Vik of Florida; great nephew, David and great niece, Katryna.

Friends and family are invited to a Visitation on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 10:00-11:00 AM in St. Hubert’s Chapel, within St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 68 Center Street, Danville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM with Fr. Kenneth Roth as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Danville.
