Edythe Rae Lindquist passed away peacefully at Thedacare-Appleton on January 3, 2026. She was born on October 27, 1931 to Edward Miller and Sylvia (Eskritt) Miller in Amherst, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage to Glenn A. Lindquist on October 30, 1954. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2012. In her younger days, she and Glenn lived in Appleton where they raised their family. She worked at Zwickers Knitting Mill, Reetz’ Supper Club, and Tel-Sec. After retirement, they moved back to Amherst where they enjoyed their 17-acre property. She always took great pride in having a beautiful yard, growing fruit trees and many varieties of flowers, especially roses. Neighbors were in awe as she mowed her huge yard on her zero-turn lawnmower at the age of 93! Mowing was not a chore to Edythe Rae.
She will be sadly missed by her four daughters: Cheryl (Thomas) Melsen of Appleton; Vicky (William) Cozeck of Greenville; Dawn Menne (Patrick Murray) of Appleton; and Valerie (Thomas) Algiers of New London; Brothers: Earl Miller and Kenneth (Christine) Miller; Brothers and sisters-in-law: Charles Olsen, Richard (Darlene) Lindquist and Mary Miller; Grandchildren: Jennifer (Nicholas) Bachman, Sarah (Kurt) Schmelz, Scott (Stephanie) Russell, Steven (Kristen) Russell, Derek Algiers, and Brooke Algiers; Great-grandchildren: Tristan Russell, Jonathan Russell, Amelia Schmelz, Lucas Schmelz, and Riley Russell; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Sisters: Mabel Ann Schultz, Norma Miller and Jeanette Miller; Brother: George Miller; Brothers and sisters-in-law: Roger Schultz, Janet Miller, Norman (Rosemary) Lindquist, Dorothy (Lee) Bergman, and Diana Olsen; Son-in-law: Craig Menne, and Nephew: Jay Lindquist. Per Edythe Rae’s wishes, no funeral service will be held.
She will be laid to rest beside her husband in a private service at Highland Memorial Park.
Take time to stop and smell the roses, Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma! We love you and will miss you always!
