David William Teagarden Obituary

A funeral service for David William Teagarden, age 95, of Glenford, Ohio will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service.  Burial will take place in Lutheran Cemetery, with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 85, of Somerset.


Mr. Teagarden passed away January 3, 2026.  He was born April 23, 1930 in Newark to the late Charles Davison and Frances Marie (Tavener) Teagarden.


Mr. Teagarden graduated from Newark High School with the class of 1948.  He served during the Korean Conflict with the United States Air Force.  He and his wife, Dorothy, moved to Perry County in 1959.  He worked at Airesman Ignition Company. Mr. Teagarden was a life member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion.


He is survived by his four children, Dennis Charles Teagarden of Glenford, Denise Edith (Keith) Gillingham of Panama City, Florida, Darlene (Douglas) Wells of Somerset and Diana McMahan of Somerset; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Virginia Melick of Newark .


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Mathews) Teagarden;  daughter,  Debra Van Sickle; son, Dean Teagarden; a brother, Raymond Teagarden;  two sisters, Martha Teagarden and Beverly Ashcraft; and grandson, Jason Calendine.


Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark.
