On January 3rd, 2026, George E. Amoss, Sr., of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully.
He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret W. Amoss and a devoted father to George E. Amoss, Jr. and his wife Gail, Madeline L. James and her husband Clive, Bruce E. Amoss and his wife Susie, and Pamela Hagerich and her late husband George.
He was a proud and loving “Pop” to his grandchildren: Marianne Amoss and her husband Josh, Megan Amoss and her husband Mark, Benjamin James and his significant other Fannie, Gavin James, Jennifer Pilarski and her husband Herb, Sarah Amoss, Geoffrey Hagerich and his wife Antoinette, and Jason Amoss.
He is also survived by many loving family members and friends.
George honorably served in the Navy Reserves and had a deep love for the water. He especially enjoyed fishing, boating, crabbing, and water skiing in the bay, pastimes that brought him great joy throughout his life.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate George's life at the family-owned Evans Life Celebration Home - 8800 Harford Road, Parkville, MD 21234, for a Visitation on Sunday, January 11th, 2026, from 1-3pm. A prayer service will be held on Monday, January 12th, 2026, 11am at Evans. Interment to conclude all services at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Glen Burnie.
