Calvin Wayne Moss, born on December 5, 1942, in Omaha, Texas, departed this world on January 3, 2026, at the age of 83. A life well-lived, Calvin was a beloved father, brother, and friend whose presence will be missed deeply by all who knew him.

Calvin grew up in a time when values of hard work and perseverance were paramount.  He dedicated his life to the art of trucking, a profession that took him on many journeys across the open roads, he was also a handyman, and when not in his truck, he was always in the shop tinkering with lawn mowers which allowed him to share stories and laughter with countless people along the way. His years on the road instilled in him a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life and the beauty found in everyday moments.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in his family. Calvin is survived by his son, David Moss and his wife Niki, his daughters Julia Burnside and her husband Freddie, and Lovie Moss, who cherished him dearly. His grandchildren, Mikey, Brady, Angelica Keondre, Keaton and Kerry-Ann, three great granddaughters, Dawn, Davina and Hazel.  His siblings—brother Larry Brown, sisters Virginia Preheim and husband Peter, Paula Stinson and her husband Steve, and Janie Cavanaugh and her husband Eddy—will hold tight to the memories they've shared with him, forever carrying his spirit in their hearts. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents: Charlie Moss, Bessie Moss-Brown and Paul Brown, brothers, Alvin Moss, Donny Brown and Bobby Brown,
