George A. Hawkins Obituary

George A. Hawkins, age 84 of Union Grove, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 3, 2026 in Marquette, Michigan at U.P. Health Systems. George was born on April 8, 1941 in Ashland, Wisconsin, the son of George and Luella (Parsons) Hawkins.


On July 15, 1960 he married the love of his life, Jean (Kruegel). George was a skilled machinist as well as a tool and dye maker in Racine, Wisconsin. He lived in Union Grove for 45 years. George enjoyed rummage sales, wood working, collecting antiques, fishing and gardening. He was also part of the Ham radio club and Subaru of America.


George is survived by his sons, Todd (JoAnn) Hawkins and Scott Hawkins; grandchildren, Jenifer (Steve) Richey, Jacklyn (Mike) Kusnierz and Joshua (Grace) Hawkins; great-grandchildren, Luke, Tyler, Katie, Charlet, Gemma, Jasper and Xavier.


He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean; brothers, Jerry (Virginia), Clifford (Judy); nephew, Mike Hawkins.


A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Mountain Funeral Home in Ashland, Wisconsin with Reverend Paul Simmons officiating. A visitation will take place at 3:30 p.m. and continue until the hour of service at the funeral home.


Interment will take place in the Mason Cemetery in Mason, WI at a later date.


Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Mountain Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Ashland and Mellen, WI.
