Charles Edward “Ed” Clark Jr, 81, Worthington, formally of Brown County,
transitioned to his heavenly home on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at his home. Ed
was born on April 10, 1944, in Osceola to the late Charles and Lucille Clark Sr.
Ed worked for IU for 33 years in the heat shop as a steam fitter. After retiring from
IU, Ed began working at the Bloomington Walmart for the next six years. Ed
would play as Santa Claus during his time working at Walmart. Ed honorably
served in the Marine Corps as a private. He was a member and, at one point, the
chief of the Travelac Volunteer Fire Dept. Ed never knew a stranger and always
greeted others with a smile as big as his heart. He made many friends through
playing bingo, cards, slots, and pull tabs. Ed was a member of the American
Legion, Hoosier Bass Masters (fishing club of Bloomington), and B – Town Poker
League; he could often be found playing with the league at The Office Lounge. He
loved to collect pocket knives and coins. Ed loved the outdoors and often enjoyed
hunting and fishing, but most of all, Ed loved to eat.
Survivors include his sons, Bert (Mitzi) Clark, Jeffrey Clark, Tim (Jennifer) Fox,
Kevin (Shawna) Fox, Roy Fox, Larry Fox, and Wade (Gloria) Fox; daughters,
Tami Hendricks and Lisa Leech; a sister, Christina Hayden; 15 grandchildren; and
several great–grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Clark, and a
sister, Gloria Headley.
