Edith Jean Masavage, age 100, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, after a remarkable century of life filled with love, family, and unwavering faith.
Edith was born at home in Waldwick, New Jersey, on January 31, 1925, to Paul and Pompilia (née Sirignano) DeBianchi, both immigrants from Italy who arrived in the United States in the early 1900s. She was one of six children and was preceded in death by all of her siblings.
Edith attended Ramsey High School in Ramsey, New Jersey, and began working in the textile industry in the early 1950s. In 1953, she married Irwin Raymond Masavage. Together they shared fifty-seven years of marriage until his passing in 2011.
A woman of deep faith, Edith held a lifelong devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and found great comfort in prayer. Her faith guided her daily life and shaped the compassion, humility, and strength with which she cared for others.
Edith was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy in life was her family. She adored her children, cherished her grandchildren, and delighted in her great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. A natural caregiver, Edith spent her life nurturing others with patience, kindness, and quiet strength. She expressed her love through baking and gardening—filling her home with the comforting aroma of homemade treats and tending her garden with pride and care.
