Ronald Enoch Bissett, 83, of Fairmont, WV passed away on January 3, 2026, at the VA Hospital in Clarksburg, WV. He was born in Fairmont, WV on September 9, 1942. The son of the late Harold and Anna Bissett.
Ronald was a 1960 graduate of East Fairmont High School. He proudly served 12 years in the United States Navy. He retired from Minnotte Machine in 2004. He was a member of the Boothsville Baptist Church. His favorite pastime was golfing, watching WVU football and basketball and the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Linda Dian Powell Bissett as well as three sisters: Betty Bissett, lucy Satterfield and Barbara Hayes.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 52 years, Ella Sue Bissett, two children Denise Bissett and Rodney Bissett (Kimberly), four grandchildren Brandon Oates, Paige Oates, Autumn Bissett and Cole Bissett, one sister Dolores Martin (Kenneth), brothers Robert Bissett (Cindy) Kent Bissett (Jackie), brothers in law Daniel Satterfield, Mason Hayes, David and Rebecca Billips, sisters in law Carol Smith, Terry and Jill Saporito, Tim and Nan Martin and his dog Max.
Family and friends can gather at Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. Pastor Orville Wright will officiate, and a burial will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery with full military honors given by the United States Navy and the Marion County Honor Guard.
