Deloree R. Bartkowiak-Gauthier

Gladwin, MI

Deloree R. Bartkowiak-Gauthier, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, at her daughter's home in Gladwin, Michigan. Born on October 10, 1926, in Pontiac, Michigan, to the late Harold and Verna (Arker) Welch, Deloree's life was a tapestry of devotion to her family, her faith, and her community.

Deloree's journey began in Pontiac, where she grew up surrounded by her loving siblings. Her heart found its match when she married Leonard Bartkowiak on June 21, 1947. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter until Leonard's passing in 1996. Deloree found love again and married Emile Gauthier on October 23, 1999, in Gladwin, where they enjoyed years of companionship until Emile's passing on January 23, 2023.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her devoted daughter, Judy (Chuck) Maxson; daughter-in-law, Karen Bartkowiak; stepchildren, Robert Gauthier, Vivian (Wally) Klaus, and Diane (Brian) Boveing; grandchildren, Aaron, Vicki, Matt, Lori, Brandon, Jamie, and Courtney; six great-grandchildren; and many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Deloree was preceded in death by her son, Harold Bartkowiak; stepson, Thomas Gauthier; and siblings, Bill Welch, Harold Welch, Cliff Welch, and Norma Agar.

Deloree's professional life was marked by her long-standing dedication to General Motors in Pontiac, from which she and Leonard retired before moving to Gladwin. Her commitment to her community was evident through her active membership in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Red Hats Society. Deloree's interests were a reflection of her vibrant spirit; she enjoyed playing cards, engaging in craft projects, and bowling. She was especially close with her family, and her unwavering support of the Detroit Tigers was a testament to her loyalty and passion.

Those who knew Deloree will remember her as loving, creative, and faith filled. Her ability to bring joy and warmth to any room was unparalleled.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday January 9, 2026 at Sacred Heart Catholic at 11 am with interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
