Thomas (Tom) R. McClure, age 76 of Hoschton, GA. was called to his Heavenly home on Saturday, January 3, 2026, surrounded by family.

Tom was born July 3, 1949, in Covington, KY. He was the son of the late Russell McClure & Mary Elizabeth McClure.

Tom spent his early years in Erlanger, KY. and in Atlanta, GA. While attending Lloyd High in Erlanger, he and his teammates won the state football championship in 1965. This was quite remarkable as he was 140lb. guard and started every game. He graduated from the University of Kentucky, where he was a lifelong UK Wildcats basketball fan.

Tom’s career in sales and sales management spanned half a century. He worked for Marchon Optical for more than 40 years, calling on optical professionals throughout Georgia where he developed many special friendships with his clients and colleagues.

He was a member of the ROTC and Army reserves. He also was a big brother through Big Brothers.

Tom considered his life’s greatest accomplishment was to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and to share his love of Jesus with others. He was a member of Free Chapel Church of Braselton, GA. He also leaves behind many long-time friends from Peachtree Corners Baptist church, where he served as a deacon, usher, and Sunday School teacher of 7th graders.

Tom is survived by his wife, Jan, of 50 wonderful years; a son, Philip McClure, his wife Lana, and granddaughter, Eleanor Victoria McClure, of Braselton. Tom also leaves behind two brothers, Jim McClure and his wife, Alice of Forest Hill, Maryland; Gary McClure, and his wife Vicki of Erlanger, Kentucky; and a sister, Peggy McClure of Elsmere, Kentucky. In addition, he is survived by several nephews, nieces and cousins, special family members and a multitude of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Memorial Park South Chapel with a reception to follow at Memorial Park South Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. prior to the service.
