Shane Joseph Champagne, 47, of the True Brook Road, Saranac, passed away suddenly, Saturday, January 3, 2026, at his home, with his loving son, Caleb, by his side.
He was born in Watertown, March 3, 1978, the son of the late, Gary and Sandy (Denny) Champagne.
Shane’s greatest joy in life was his son, Caleb Champagne. Shane loved watching Caleb play football, basketball and baseball games for his high school teams and watching him excel in life academically and personally.
When he wasn’t in his shop working on cars, Shane would often be found on his porch, across from the brook, talking to and spending time with friends & family, listening to music, cooking up feasts & enjoying life. Everybody that knew Shane knew how much he loved to entertain his friends, especially by hosting his big pig roast picnics in the summer time.
He enjoyed hunting, had a green thumb in his garden, and loved going to concerts and picnics and spending time with family & friends.
Shane is survived by his son, Caleb Champagne; brother Cody Champagne & fiance, Laura Markey & their son William Raymond Champagne; step mother, Helen Kellas-Champagne; Aunt Sandy; Uncle Bruce; Aunt Brenda; cousins, Josh, Jennell, Cyle, Kelly, Ashlee, Jamie, and Damien; niece, Josie Champagne; Caleb’s mother, Lauren Swayze; Shane’s girlfriend, Shannon Wood; and many beloved friends.
Shane was predeceased by his mother, Sandra Denny; his father, Gary Champagne; his step-father, Jethro “Fro” Neville; his brother, Joseph Champagne; and his nephew, Isaac Cooper.
