It is with profound sadness that the family of Clifford O’Quinn announce his peaceful passing on January 3, 2026 at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville at the age of 77 years.

Clifford was predeceased by: his parents Vincent and Mary O’Quinn; and his sisters: Zita and Glenda. He is lovingly remembered by: his daughters: Shannon, Kerry, and Megan; granddaughter Mya; grandson Jarod; great grandson Tate; brothers: Donald and Randy; sister Marilyn; and special friend and brother-in-law Danny Quirk. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Clifford dedicated many years of his life as a teacher and educator, a role that reflected his passion for learning and sharing knowledge with others. Outside the classroom, he was a musician at heart, playing in a rock band and finding great joy in playing guitar and singing. He also loved nature and spend many peaceful days relaxing at the beach, where he found calm and contentment.

One of Clifford’s greatest joys was spending time with his granddaughter Mya, whom he loved deeply. Together they shared stories, lessons, and laughter that will be forever cherished.

In his later years, Clifford embraced and deepened his connection to this Indigenous culture, a journey that brought him understanding, grounding, and ultimately peace in his final days.

Clifford will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Following his wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, January 8th, 2026 at 10:00 AM at the People of the Dawn Friendship Centre, 329 Main Street, St. George’s, NL.
