Margaret McLeod Obituary

Margaret (Margie) English McLeod passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, January 3, 2026, at Piedmont Macon Medical Hospital. A memorial service will be at Gray Memorial Chapel, 4378 Gray Highway, Gray, Georgia on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 1:00 PM with a visitation for family friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Gray Memorial Gardens (At Cedar Ridge). The Rev. Randy Darnell will officiate.


Margie was born on, November 17, 1925, to the late Hillery and Sallie Deer English. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Juddie McLeod her son, William Rue Leatherwood and grandson, Michael Andrew Leatherwood.


Margie was retired from Sears Roebuck company with twenty-three years of service. Margie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gray. She will be remembered for her faith filled life. Margie lived to be one hundred and was committed to be her when the Lord returned. She was very giving person to her own detriment. Margie never missed an opportunity to witness about her faith. An eternal optimist she saw the good in others and in any situation, she found herself. Her legacy to her family will always be her unwavering commitment to her faith, church, and her Lord.


Margie is survived by her grandchildren, Alex (Charmion) Leatherwood, Stephen (Jessica) Leatherwood, Christopher (Leigh) Leatherwood, 13 great children and 4 great great grandchildren. Stepchild, Judy Kay Dewrell.
