Dolores "Dodie" Mae Clark, 94, passed away peacefully in her home on January 3, 2026, surrounded by family.
Dodie was born June 5th, 1931 to Frances and Chester Price in Brazil, Indiana where she spent her life building an abundance of meaningful relationships and lasting memories. She married the love of her life, Francis "Demont" Clark and together they raised three children whom she was very proud of.
She worked for several years at CBS before retiring. Her greatest joy was her family, which grew to include 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Dodie's love for her family and friends knew no bounds. There wasn't a place she visited that she would not run into someone she knew that was happy to see her. She was once very active in bowling leagues, a proud member of the Red Hat Society, a volunteer at the bookstore and hospital gift shop, and a great card player. Dodie also loved a good cup of coffee at any time of the day, long phone calls, and visits from her friends and family that often turned into sleepovers for her grandchildren. She filled her home with antiques and special pieces collected throughout her life, each with its own story. She lit up sharing those stories, bringing the past to life for everyone around her. Dodie was peculiar in the best way -- she knew what she liked and how she liked it done, especially when it came to her lawn, which no one could cut quite as well as her granddaughter.
Above all, she gave her entire being to her family every single day, loving them and supporting them through every challenge life brought to the table. Her home was a safe landing place where you knew you would always leave feeling better than you did when you arrived. She was the perfect balance of silliness and unconditional love, paired with a gentle, guiding presence that shaped and supported everyone around her. She loved Jesus and found comfort, purpose, and joy with Him to her final day on this earth. Dodie's legacy lives on through the many lives she's touched, the friendships she cherished, and the family she built that will always love her beyond words.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her special friend Melissa and Billy for the exceptional love, care, and dedication they provided Dodie in her final time with us in this life.
Dodie is met in heaven by her husband Francis Demont Clark, son Mark Clark; and a sister Faye Brodehl.
She is survived and celebrated by her Son Rick(Patty)Clark Brazil, daughter Sandra(Bill)Kiernan Florida, daughter-in-law: Nancy Clark, grandchildren Heather(Scott Farris), Jackie Clark, Andrew(Marcella)Kiernan, Michael(Jackie)Kiernan, Ryan Clark, Chad Clark, great grandchildren, Kyley (Christian) Struck, and daughter Sophie, Dilan Farris, Justine (Zac) Niehaus and sons Monroe and McCormick, Drew and John Kiernan, Allysa and Collen Clark and Katrina Dial.
Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Services will follow at the funeral home at 1:00 PM with burial to be held at Bee Ridge Cemetery.
