Melissa Sue Brubaker Cone, passed away peacefully at Alamance Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family on January 3, 2026.

Melissa leaves behind her partner in life Greg Blanchard who stood by her through thick and thin. Her sisters, Denise Turman (David), Tina Brubaker and her brother Matthew Brubaker (Angie). Her children, Douglas Cone, Matthew Cone (Megan), Joanie Valdez (Eddie), Joshua Cone (Lauren) and Marcus Sowell. She also leaves behind her eight grandchildren, Kaelyn, Mykenzie, Mykayla, Olivia, Christian, Madison, Nora and Bentley and also a special and cherished brother-in-law, Roger Allmond

She was loved by a host of nieces and nephews, Michael Walls, David Thornton (Tiffany), Darcie Hair (William), Chris Hollowell, Tabitha Halacheff (Kody), Mark Willoughby and also a host of great nieces and nephews who meant the to her. 

Melissa was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold Brubaker and JoAnn Gabrielon Schwarm. Her husband, Robert Ernest Cone, one sister, Kathy Allmond, nephew, Jonathan Willoughby, a niece, Jessica Walls and a great niece Briar Halacheff.

A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Graham at 2:00pm with the family receiving friends for a time of visitation beginning at 12:30pm. The family requests that those attending dress casually, and when not at the funeral home friends and family will be received at Matthew and Angies house, 500 Paris Street, Graham, North Carolina.
