Margaret F. Reincke, 93, of Marshall, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026 surrounded by her loving family at home.
She was born on March 17, 1932 in Marshall, Michigan to Edward and Bernice (Yaudes) Jones. Margaret attended local rural schools and during high school, she worked as a waitress and as a telephone operator for Michigan Bell, graduating in 1949. After graduation she worked as a payroll clerk for Kellogg Cereal Company.
On May 27, 1950, Margaret married Judson “Jud” Reincke at Lyon Lake Methodist Parsonage, sadly he passed away on February 23, 2011.
Shortly after marriage, they moved to a farm to begin raising their family and they moved onto the current farm in 1962. Margaret worked as a teacher’s aide in 1970 at Conley School in Marshall for 9 years and then as a Parish Secretary at Zion Lutheran Church in Marshall for 14 years, retiring in 1984.
Margaret was a longtime, 20 years, election official for Fredonia Township and while her boys were attending Houston school she volunteered as a mother and secretary of the school board, until it closed by annexation to Marshall Schools in 1967. She was an active member of Lyon Lake Methodist Church, of which she was the financial secretary for 30 years, the Marshall Moose Lodge, the Farm Bureau, the Fredonia Grange, the Michigan LST Association and the U.S. LST Association. She and Jud traveled all over the country attending various conventions.
She enjoyed gardening, yardwork, knitting and crocheting. Her family will fondly miss the many towels and scrubbies that were frequently given to them. Margaret also enjoyed being a volunteer grandma at Hughes Elementary School in Marshall, where her grandchildren attended.
Margaret is survived by her children, Myron (Rita) Reincke of Ceresco, Michigan, Mark Reincke of Marshall, Michigan and Norman (Julie) Reincke of Marshall, Michigan, her grandchildren, Laurie Gibbs, Matt Reincke, Trace Reincke, and Linc Reincke. Her great granddaughter Saleen Pierce, her siblings, Betty Williams of Marshall, Michigan, Donald Jones of Sarasota, Florida and James (Ardie) Jones of Marshall, Michigan. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jud, her stepfather, Frank Pearson, her brother, Richard Jones and her sister Ruth Hoffman.
Visitation for Margaret will take place on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, Michigan 49068. The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lyon Lake Cemetery, Marshall, Michigan.
