Mary E. “Liz” D’Onofrio of Everett passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the age of 84, surrounded by love.
Born in February 1941 in Boston, Mary lived a life defined by devotion, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to family and community. She was the beloved wife of 64 years to the late Ronald D’Onofrio, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and partnership. She was the cherished daughter of the late Henry Aubrey and Mary Aubrey (Morris).
Mary was a devoted and loving mother to her three sons: Ronald D’Onofrio of New Hampshire, Anthony “Nino” D’Onofrio of Methuen, and Christian D’Onofrio of Melrose. Nothing brought her greater pride or joy than her family, especially her role as a grandmother to her treasured granddaughters, Isabella and Mia D’Onofrio, who were the light of her life.
She was a loving sister to Barbara Scyone and is reunited in eternal peace with her siblings John, Billy, Patricia, Henry, Joe, Sandy, Claire, Gail, Nancy, Barry, and Dennis.
Mary also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Beyond her family, Mary was blessed with a remarkable circle of lifelong friends who became family to her. She shared deep and lasting friendships with Gloria Sprague, Mary Monteforte, Pat Ruggiero, Jean Sasso, and Joyce Tardito—relationships built on loyalty, laughter, and love.
Mary attended Everett High School and dedicated more than 25 years of service to Mystic Valley Elder Services (MVES), where her compassion and work ethic touched countless lives. Alongside her late husband, she was actively involved for many years with Everett Youth Hockey, generously giving her time and energy to support young athletes and the community she loved so deeply.
Mary will be remembered for her warm smile, selfless heart, quiet strength, and the way she made everyone feel welcomed and cared for. Her legacy lives on through the family she adored and the many lives she touched.
