Greg W. Kaletsch, age 77, loving husband of 57 years to Stana (Flickinger) Kaletsch, beloved father of Nicole (Tim) Lynch, Stu (Amy Jeffers) Kaletsch, and cherished Poppy to Madigan, Timmy, Gracie and Katie Lynch. Greg was born in Galesburg, IL on November 19, 1948. He later graduated from Galesburg High School. Greg served in Vietnam and was a proud Veteran always dressed in his Army gear. His career as a Logistics/Transportation Manager moved him to Rockton, IL, where Stana and Greg raised Nicci and Stu. Throughout their youth, you would find Greg coaching their various sports teams and always on the sideline as their biggest cheerleader. Eventually, Greg and Stana would move to Willowbrook, IL to be closer to their grandchildren. There they continued to be the biggest supporters from wherever their sports would take them. Being their Poppy was his greatest treasure in life and he was the best at it. Greg had a passion for NASCAR, especially his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. On one of many trips to Florida, he was able to accomplish his bucket list dream of riding around the Daytona Int'l Speedway. He was a huge fan of Classic Rock, too. Many Sunday afternoons were spent cheering on his favorite team, the Chicago Bears. Greg cherished his time boating and fishing on the Mississippi River while at the family cabin, aka Flick’s Flop. We will always remember how he was patient, kind, funny, a problem solver, the voice of reason, and a man with a gentle smile below his iconic mustache. Memorial Visitation Thursday, January 8, 2025, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Avenue, Darien. Interment private. In lieu of flowers donations to Wounded Warrior Project appreciated
