Gordon Wayne Witty, 94, Rogersville, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Copper Rock Healthcare, Rogersville.
He was born August 6, 1931 in Springfield, Missouri, the son of the late Crayo and Bertha (Johnson) Witty. He was united in marriage April 16, 1949 in Springfield to Dorothy Mae Lane.
Gordon employed with Lily-Tulip and Sweetheart Cup for over 40 years. He was a longtime member of Rogersville First Baptist Church where he also served as a deacon. He was an avid horseman and animal lover. He was also a musician, participated with the Webster County Opry and volunteered for many years at the Rogersville Senior Center. He will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 76 years, Dorothy; a son, Garry Witty and his wife Deborah; two grandchildren, Kevin Witty and his wife Cathy, and Karri Holiday and her husband James; five great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great-grandchildren, one great-great-great-grandson, and many friends.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2026 with funeral services following at 12:00 p.m. at J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville. Burial will follow at Palmetto Cemetery, Rogersville.
