Koleson L Meakin, a 4-year-old warrior, passed away peacefully at home Saturday January 3, 2026 at 4:51 am surrounded by his parents, home care nurse Brittany Olszewski, and his grandmas.

Koleson was born on August 31, 2021, at 9:02 a.m. at Strong Memorial Hospital. From the moment he entered the world, Koleson showed remarkable strength and courage. He fought bravely against a rare metabolic disease, facing each day with a spirit that inspired everyone who knew him.

Koleson had a deep love for music and lights, which brought him joy and happiness. He enjoyed arts and crafts, expressing himself in ways that reflected his curious and creative soul. He loved his family and friends deeply, and that love was returned to him many times over.

Koleson changed the world in ways that words can scarcely describe. His smile was the best in the world, lighting up every room he entered, and his laugh was the greatest sound to hear—pure, joyful, and unforgettable. Knowing Koleson was a gift, and his presence left a lasting mark on the hearts of all who were blessed to meet him.

He was surrounded by incredible love and received amazing support from his community, whose kindness and compassion will never be forgotten. Though his time here was far too short, Koleson’s impact is immeasurable, and his legacy of love, strength, and joy will live on forever.

Koleson is survived by his parents, Dominique (Hughes) and Brady Meakin, his sister, Jovie Meakin, his grandparents; Chuck and Jennifer Hughes, Brennan and Pamela Meakin, his great- grandparents; Connie and Clay Martin, Walter Gilbert, Tom and Jo Anna Church and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

His family would like to acknowledge his medical team at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester, NY. All of his specialist, his 8 North team and his palliative doctor who was by their side at the most important moment of their lives.

A celebration of Koleson’s life will be on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 2 PM-5 PM at Brent's Opera House, 444 Main St, Medina, NY 14103. Burial will be private for the family.
