Kathleen Kuberry Obituary

Mary “Kathleen” Kuberry, 54 of Tionesta, entered into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, January 3, 2026 after a valiant battle with ovarian cancer, which she fought with unwavering courage and grace.

She was born on June 16, 1971, in Pittsburgh to the late Donald L. Shaw and Mary “Kathy” (Kuth) Shaw, who survives.

Kathleen was a graduate of North Clarion High School. She attended Clarion University of Pennsylvania where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She also became a Licensed Practical Nurse after graduating from the Clarion County Career Center.

On October 31, 2014, she married her loving husband, Devin Kuberry. Their marriage was an ultimate testament to profound love, support, and a partnership where they selflessly cared for one another. As she bravely battled with illness over the past four years, Devin dedicated himself wholly to care, comfort, and attend to her every need. “Two are better than one…if either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10)

Kathleen found her true passion in 2020 when they started Red Brush Ranch at their home in Tionesta. Her caring nature and immense love for God’s creatures made her an amazing shepherd. Like everything she cared deeply for, she applied her love and nurturing touch to make a truly special place for all of the animals raised there. As she grew the flock, she continued to name each sheep, bottle-feed lambs, and provide expert care to the animals. Devin would regularly find her in the pasture and barn holding sheep and lambs while playing them music and crying out of pure joy and love. Any person or animal that was cared for and loved by Kathleen experienced a life of comfort and joy.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Global Methodist Church in Tionesta. Although we are grieving with immense pain here on earth, she is in the glorious presence of the Lord. “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.’” (John 11:25-26)

Kathleen was a truly unique and amazing woman with an extraordinary spirit of generosity and kindness. She would offer help to anyone in need and often put the needs of others before her own. She excelled in her many roles as wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed spending her time with her pets, cooking, hunting, decorating, hosting dinners and events, and time with family more than anything. She was truly happiest at home with her family where she made a house full of support, love, laughter, and comfort. Her dinners and events were unmatched with her elaborate planning, incredible cooking, and elegant taste. Not only did she carefully plan all aspects of these festivities, she was also the life of the party. She could make an entire room laugh with her often times unintentionally hilarious comments. She was the “cool” aunt affectionately known as Aunt Leeney to her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and mother, those left to cherish her memory include her children - Kevin Wolbert of Knox and John Wolbert of Clarion; siblings - Donald Shaw of Gainesville, VA, Eric Shaw of Cedar Mtn. NC, Donna Shaw of Pittsburgh, David (Becky) Shaw of Leeper, and Lorri Hinton (Joe Siegel) of Clarion; mother/father-in-law - Daniel & Marcie McFarlard of Tionesta, and Brent Kuberry of Pleasantville; as well brother/sister-in-law - Danielle (Tom) Spagel of Erie, Chad (Raquel) McFarland of Tionesta, Rochelle (Bob) Weltner of Polkton, NC, Paul (Denise) Kuberry of Erie, Eden (Michael) Spoharski of Pleasantville, Jesse McFarland of Tionesta, Ivy Kuberry of Russel, OH, Brent Kuberry Jr. of Pleasantville; as well as many animals in her care, especially her dog Cici.

As per Kathleen’s wishes, funeral services will be private with the Reverend Rick Helsel as officiant.      Interment will take place in the Washington Church Cemetery, Tionesta. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Clarion Cancer Center, 150 Doctors Lane, Suite 1, Clarion, PA 16214
