Kenneth Lee Boevers Obituary

Kenneth Lee Boevers died Saturday, January 3, 2026. Kenneth was born on May 23, 1934, at his parents' home in Banner, Oklahoma. His parents were Cloyce Boevers and Blanche (Heitzman) Boevers. Kenneth’s early childhood was that of a farm boy who would learn how to care for the animals and would know about growing and harvesting wheat and hay. He would learn to appreciate the value of hard work, but would also learn that it was important to take time for a visit with family and friends.

His first years of school were spent in a country one room schoolhouse. After that, he attended school at Union City, where he excelled in basketball while helping the team win many games. It was at Union City where he met and dated Betty, who would later become his wife for 72 years. Together, they raised their son Terry and their daughter Tammy.

They moved to El Reno where Kenneth’s first job was at Bob’s Grill where he learned to make onion burgers and how to interact with the public. He would later work for Rainbow Baking Company.

One of the favorite activities in Kenneth’s life was bowling. He enjoyed the fellowship with other bowlers, but he also enjoyed the competition. He loved to win and would try to learn methods to be better. He won a ring for bowling a perfect game, but he also had other 300 games. He was on several bowling teams and went to tournaments in other cities.

He was a loving and caring son to his parents, a faithful and loving husband to his wife, and a loving father to his son and daughter, and always wanted the best in life for them. He was a hard-working employee for his bread company. He was a loyal friend to his coffee buddies and also enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. He looked forward to attending services at First Baptist Church and seeing all the smiling faces.

He is survived by his wife Betty of 72 years and their son Terry Boevers and his wife Heidi of El Reno, their daughter Tammy Turner and husband Tim of The Woodlands, Texas. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Aaron Boevers and his wife Tina of Monroe, Washington; Andy Boevers of Edmond, Oklahoma; Clay Boevers of Ballston Lake, New York; Sara Davidson and her husband Derek of Weatherford, Texas; John Boevers and his wife Rachel of Lewisburg, Kansas; Jimmy Boevers of El Reno, Oklahoma; Ricky Boevers and his wife Victoria of Winnsboro, Texas; Tyler Turner and his wife Kerry of Houston, Texas; Travis Turner and his wife Rebecca of Sherman, Texas; and Trevor Turner and his wife Lauren of Boerne, Texas. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Mark Boevers.

Great-grandchildren include Faith and Genny Boevers; Autumn Boevers; Elizabeth, Owen, and Matthew Smithson; Addy and Nathaniel Boevers; Braden and Jack Boevers; Graham, Olivia, and Madeleine Turner; Evelyn and Susanna Turner; and Rose and Ruby Turner. Each was loved greatly by Gpa.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church in El Reno, with burial to follow at Union City Cemetery. Visitation at Wilson Funeral Home will be on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm. Family will be present from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
