EvaLynn Sprayberry Vinson Obituary

Funeral Services for Mrs. EvaLynn Sprayberry Vinson, age 73 of Lineville, will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Concord Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Kytan officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.


Mrs. Vinson passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Clay County and a 1969 graduate of Lineville High School. She briefly worked for Wellborn cabinets and Hooton’s Egg Plant, but primarily worked for Cheaha State Park. She was the manager for the Cheaha General Store and retired after 28 years of faithful service. Mrs. Vinson enjoyed spending time with her friends, taking care of her animals, and was a member of Concord Baptist Church. She was loyal to her family and friends with a dry sense of humor. Mrs. Vinson was described as caring and considerate of other, honest and soft hearted to those closest to her. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.


Mrs. Vinson is survived by her daughter, Ashley Vinson Thrower (David Short); her granddaughter, Laney Mintz; her sister, Catherine Bright (Paul) all of Lineville; one brother, Mac A. Sprayberry of Munford; plus several nieces, nephews, and extended family.


She was preceded in death by her parents: Vinson Levi and Rossie Burt Sprayberry; her husband, David R. Vinson; son in law, Dean Thrower; and two brothers: James Leon and Billy W. Sprayberry.


Active Pallbearers will be Perry Lackey, Cary Nolen, Cody Sprayberry, Keith Sprayberry, Steve Cotton, and Stephen Graben.


Her visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Concord Baptist Church beginning at 1:00 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M.
